Woodwave
For 20 years, I have been designing and building mobile, battery-powered wooden audio boxes, also known as boomboxes or Bluetooth speakers. Initially, the focus was on full-range speakers to offer good sound quality at an affordable price. Later, 2-way concepts were introduced, some with digital crossovers and bi-amping. From this passion, I founded Woodwave in 2020 to develop sustainable, high-quality products for discerning and environmentally conscious customers.
As an environmental engineer, I can assess what makes a product sustainable: the longest possible usage cycles with minimal resource consumption. In addition to audio boxes, I am now developing many other products with this principle in mind. Wood is a very special material because it:
- is a renewable resource that binds CO2,
- is highly decorative and unique due to its grain and color,
- offers a pleasant feel and warmth,
- and, depending on the type of wood, even has antibacterial properties.
